Monkhouse scored the third of three Pools goals in Saturday's draw
Hartlepool United manager Danny Wilson has praised winger Andy Monkhouse for his role in Saturday's 3-3 draw in the FA Cup first round at Brighton.
Monkhouse, 28, scored the third goal and provided a number of dangerous crosses in the game.
And speaking after the game Wilson told BBC Tees: "I thought Andy was terrific this afternoon.
"He played some terrific balls, from the quality of ball he played he deserved a goal in the second half."
Pools will welcome Brighton up to Victoria Park for the replay on Tuesday, 18 November after Seagulls striker Tommy Fraser levelled the scores late on.
And Wilson admitted he hopes there will be a reward for those fans who travelled south when Albion arrive on Teesside for that second game.
"The football was excellent and we should have won," he said.
"But it didn't and at least it gives us a chance for the fans, and particularly those who travelled down here today, to watch us on home turf.
"With a bit of luck we might have a nice incentive waiting for us at the end of it."
Should Pools qualify for round two they will travel to the winners of the Leiston v Fleetwood Town fixture.
