Hartlepool United manager Danny Wilson has urged his side to curb their attacking instincts or risk throwing away priceless victories in League One.
Pools are among the division's top scorers with 19 goals in nine games but Wilson fears it will be in vain if they do not approach games more defensively.
"We seem to be cavalier in our approach, the fans love it but we want to win games," he told BBC Tees.
"It's not just the defence, everyone's going forward and it causes problems."
It is a delicate balance for Wilson, who watched on as Pools bounced back from three goals down to earn a 3-3 draw with Swindon Town on Friday night.
With his side continuing to create chances, the former Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley manager believes sharpness is spoiling their impressive performances.
"The first form of defence starts with your attack, keeping people on the backfoot, keeping them penned in and then it's a concentration level," he said.
"We've been caught out a couple of times by not concentrating on the jobs we need to do well to keep possession of the ball.
"It does happen at times because we're quite an offensive team and because we create so many chances maybe one or two have a breather when they shouldn't.
"It's only a fine line to tweak and we've been working hard on it in training this week."
