Hartlepool have signed 24-year-old striker Michael Mackay from non-league side Consett. Mackay joined Consett from Durham City in October 2005 and is currently the Arngrove Northern League's top goalscorer with 43 goals.
In his time with Durham City he scored on 30 occasions and his goalscoring record made him a target of several league clubs.
Mackay joins a month after forward Jon Daly left to join Dundee United.
