David Foley hit a hat-trick to help Hartlepool to a 5-1 win over Sheffield FC in Wednesday's friendly. Michael Maidens opened the scoring when he latched on to a clever through ball from Adam Clough, and rounded the keeper before slotting home.
Sheffield equalised before United's Michael Rae smashed past the keeper to make it 2-1.
Substitute Foley grabbed his first after taking advantage of a defensive lapse, before adding two more late on.
