Hartlepool United have signed 21-year-old centre-back Ben Clark from North-East neighbours Sunderland. England under-20 international Clark has been a long-standing target for Pools boss Neale Cooper.
"We have been trying to sign Ben for a while now. This is great news for the club," Cooper told the club's website.
Clark came through Sunderland's youth system to make 14 first-team appearances, but has only managed to play three times this season.
