The Second Division club's players and management faced not being paid this month. But the club managed to come up with part of their wages on Friday and promised the balance in seven days' time. Non-payment of wages two years ago led to a players' strike that prevented Hamilton fulfilling a fixture and resulted in a 15-point deduction from the Scottish Football League.
Manager Ally Dawson told BBC Scotland: "It's not an ideal situation, but it's one that the players and I have accepted and we will get on with it for the time being." Dawson admitted that the club had concentrated so much on the building of their recently-opened new stadium that they had left themselves short for day-to-day costs.
