Bennett has started 20 league games for Grimsby this season (PA)

The 17-year-old received the title at the 2008 Football League awards ceremony in London on Sunday.

Bennett said: "Hopefully I can push on to make as many appearances as possible.

"Being in the first-team means a very busy training schedule and that makes it hard to fit in college work, I get a lot of help from the people round me."
