Grimsby Town have clinched the loan signing of Barnsley central defender Robert Atkinson until 2 January. Atkinson who is a product of Barnsley's academy will join up with his former academy manager Stuart Watkiss who is now on the Grimsby coaching staff.
The 20-year-old has played eight first team games for Barnsley so far.
Atkinson has had loan spells with Scarborough and Halifax in previous seasons before spending a month at Rochdale earlier this season.
