The club have already made Santos an initial offer to stay at relegated Grimsby, but now a second offer is ready to be tabled.

"We're obviously trying to secure George's services for next year," said player-manager Paul Groves.

"He's had a good second half to the season, he's added something to the team we felt it needed.

"We value him and we want to try to keep him," Groves told Grimsby's official website.
