Kissock is hoping to help Irons fill a gap in Gretna's midfield |
Gretna have signed 18-year-old Everton midfielder John Paul Kissock on loan until the end of the season. He will go straight into the squad for Saturday's clash with Hibernian should he receive international clearance.
Kissock's arrival will compensate for the loss of the influential Fabian Yantorno, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.
Gretna head coach Davie Irons said: "Losing Yantorno is a big blow, but Kissock is an exciting young player."
Kissock, a product of Everton's youth system, has been a regular starter with the reserves and made the squad for last month's Uefa Cup tie with AZ Alkmaar.
He has represented England at under-16, under-17 and under-18 levels and has been on stand-by for the under-19s.

Gretna's website was enthusiastic about the arrival of what they regard as a "highly-rated" young player.
"A quick-footed attacking midfielder, Kissock is renowned for his creativity and passing in the final third," it stated.
