Grays defender Gavin Cowan has been released by mutual consent. The 26-year-old had only joined Grays in January, moving on a free transfer from Shrewsbury, and he made eight Conference appearances for them.
He was also loaned out to Conference North side Nuneaton Borough towards the end of the season.
Cowan played for Canvey Island in the Conference before joining Shrewsbury in 2005, but made just 24 league appearances in nearly two years there.
