Liam Daish was disappointed that his Gravesend side could only manage a draw with 10-man Southport. The Fleet boss said: "As much as I'd like to say otherwise, it was two points dropped.
"When Southport went down to 10 men, they performed spiritedly and our finishing wasn't as clinical as it may have been.
"We passed the ball well and tried to make the extra man count but probably tried too many speculative shots."
