Ford hails hero Hatch
Gravesend & Northfleet manager Andy Ford reckons he could have trouble retaining the services of goal hero Liam Hatch.

Hatch ensured Fleet's Conference survival with his 72nd-minute winner from the edge of the area against Halifax on Saturday .

And Ford fears the vital strike will only serve to alert more clubs to the fast-improving forward.

Ford told BBC Radio Kent: "It was a great goal.

"He has now scored three in three games and he is a handful when he plays like that.

"I'll let him enjoy the moment, but then I'll bring him back down to earth - he has got to produce more performances like that.

"Of course, the dilemma for me is, if he does, he'll probably not be at this club much longer!"

Hatch moved to Stonebridge Road at the start of the 2001-02 season from Kent League side Herne Bay.

His 23 goals for the seaside club during the previous season earned him the league's leading goalscorer award.

And since breaking into Fleet's first team towards the end of last season, he has continued to develop, contributing seven goals to the current Conference campaign.
