Gillingham's Simeon Jackson could be 3m man - Claridge
Jackson joined the Gills from Rushden & Diamonds in 2008
Football pundit Steve Claridge believes Gillingham are right to value striker Simeon Jackson at more than £1.5m.
The 22-year-old Canada international has scored 12 goals so far this season and has been linked with a number of Premier League and Championship clubs.
"In today's market, with the potential that he's got, there are players that are going for a lot more money than that," Claridge told BBC Radio Kent.
"If this was Leeds he was scoring goals for, you'd probably double that."
Claridge, who played three games for the Gills at the end of his career, rates Jackson highly.
If he keeps playing the way he is then he will get that move

"He scores goals and whatever the level there's got to be a certain amount of value on you," he said.
"It might not be that they come up with £1.5m upfront, it might need to be paid pro-rata on how well he does.
"But I don't think it will do him any harm to stay where he is for certainly this season and then see when it goes from there.
"If he keeps playing the way he is then he will get that move."
