Boss Mark Stimson was disappointed with Daniels' decision

Winger Charlie Daniels has decided to return to Tottenham following the end of his month-long loan at Gillingham.

The 22-year-old's spell ended on Saturday and he wants to compete for a first-team place at Spurs rather than extend his stay at Priestfield.

He made five appearances for the club and scored a 30-yard free kick which completed a 3-0 win over Grimsby.

Gills manager Mark Stimson said: "I'm disappointed that he's decided to go back to Tottenham."

He added: "I thank him for his time here and wish him the best for the future."

Stimson now hopes latest signing Albert Jarrett will be able to fill in behind Daniels in midfield.
