Weston made seven appearances for Scunthorpe last season
Gillingham midfielder Curtis Weston has made his move to Priestfield permanent.
The 21-year-old joined from Leeds United on a month's loan, but has now signed a two-year deal with the Gills.
Manager Mark Stimson said: "He wants to get on the ball, he's creative, with a little nasty streak in him and I think that's from his Millwall days.
"You don't become the youngest player to play in an FA Cup final without having a little bit about you, and he's definitely got that," Stimson added.
Weston, who can play in midfield or on the wing, began his career with Millwall.
He made history in 2004 when, aged 17, he became the youngest player to appear in an FA Cup final, when the Lions lost 3-0 to Manchester United at the Millennium stadium.
Stimson said: "He will open that door for us with maybe that through pass that has been lacking lately and you need those players when games are tight just to see that pass.
"But you also have the other side of it when you need to pull a shirt, when you need to go to ground and make a tackle that is meant.
"From his upbringing and working with Dennis Wise you can see he's got a little bit of that in him."
