Stimson started pre-season training at the beginning of June.
Gillingham boss Mark Stimson says his squad is starting to bond with the new season just a few weeks away.
"We've got a group now who're fighting in the right direction," Stimson told BBC Radio Kent.
The Gills manager added he would still like to off-load striker Delroy Facey: "He's been a good lad, it just hasn't worked out between me and him."
Gillingham's major summer signing Mark McCammon appears an ideal replacement for Facey.
Facey fell out of favour at Priestfield towards the end of last season, and had a spell on loan at Wycombe. He was placed on the transfer list alongside Efe Sodje and Aaron Brown - both of whom have now left the club - at the beginning of the summer.
Stimson also credits a recent trip to La Manga in Spain as helping with team bonding, and is happy with the players he brought to Priestfield both in the summer and in the second half of last season since he joined from Stevenage.
