Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson is hoping fans might just be starting to see the best of striker Dean McDonald. After scoring on the opening day of the season, McDonald, 21, suffered a dip in form but has scored two goals in his last four games.
Jepson told BBC Radio Kent: "I am always on his case because he is not the finished article.
"Dean is improving but I still need more from him especially when he doesn't have the ball."
McDonald joined the Gills in May 2006 after leaving Ipswich.
