Brown is set to receive a final offer from chairman Paul Scally |
Gillingham are preparing a final contract offer for Wales international goalkeeper Jason Brown. The 24-year-old is out of contract at the Priestfield Stadium this summer.
"I've spoken to Jason's agent a number of times. His first demands were way out of our reach," Gills chairman Paul Scally told BBC Radio Kent.
"I understand his demands are now less excessive. If he takes the package, that's fine - but if he doesn't, we'll find alternatives."
Brown joined the Gills from Charlton in March 2001 after a successful trial spell.
