Scally in quit threat
Gillingham chairman Paul Scally
Scally is threatening to step down as chairman
Gillingham football club's chairman Paul Scally has threatened to resign if the protest over the change in shirt colour means they lose their main sponsor.

Many fans think Sea France had a big say in the change in the home kit from blue shirts to white.

They have complained to the company directly and Scally fears this could lead to the end of their sponsorship.

"They've had faxes and emails telling them they're not going to use Sea France any longer," said Scally.

"If as a result of this, the club loses its main sponsor, and there is a chance it will, then it will also lose its chairman."
