Elm found his opportunities limited at Craven Cottage

Fulham have sold Swedish striker David Elm to Elfsborg for an undisclosed fee.

Elm joined the Cottagers in July 2009 from Kalmar and scored one Premier League goal in 10 appearances - against Burnley in February 2010.

In a statement, Fulham said that the 28-year-old forward would officially join Elfsborg who play in Boras, Sweden, on 1 February.

"We would like to thank David for his services and wish him all the best for the future," the statement added.

Elm was signed by former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson for a fee reported to be in the region of £500,000.

At the end of the 2009-10 season, he signed a contract extension through to the end of the 2011-12 campaign.

But with Andy Johnson and Moussa Dembele fit again after injuries to strengthen Fulham's attacking options, current manager Mark Hughes has deemed Elm surplus to requirements.
