Erik Nevland signed for Manchester United in 1997 |
Fulham have agreed a 1.85m fee with Dutch club FC Groningen for former Manchester United striker Erik Nevland. Fulham initially had two bids turned down for the 30-year-old forward before an agreement was reached on Sunday.
The fee is expected to rise by a further 370,000 should the relegation-threatened Cottagers retain their Premier League status.
Norwegian Nevland signed for United as a 19-year-old, scoring one goal in an unsuccessful two-year spell.

He will be reunited with Fulham boss Roy Hodgson, whom he played for at Norwegian club Viking FK and will now undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with the Londoners.
Groningen director Hans Nijland told the club's official website: "Initially the difference between our valuation and theirs was too great and the matter seemed closed. But Fulham got in touch again and that led to an agreement.
"Everyone at the club is happy for Erik to make this step in the autumn of his career.
"He is 31 this year and has received a lucrative offer to play for at least six months in one of the biggest leagues in Europe."
