Northern Ireland captain Aaron Hughes has joined Fulham from Aston Villa in a �1m transfer deal. The 27-year-old centre-back will be reunited with former Northern Ireland boss Lawrie Sanchez who is now in charge at Craven Cottage.
The former Newcastle United defender has agreed a three-year contract.
"When this opportunity presented itself I had no hesitation in discussing the manager's ambitions for the club," Hughes told the Fulham website.
"I am happy to have signed before the start of pre-season, which gives me the opportunity of being with the lads on day one."
Hughes has 44 international caps and made 50 league starts during his two seasons at Villa Park.
