Colin Gardner has taken over as chairman of Forest Green Rovers - replacing Trevor Horsley, who has stepped down because of ill health. Horsley has taken up Gardner's former position as vice-chairman.
However, Gardner is aware that his tenure could be cut short when the Conference club's annual general meeting is held on 17 August.
"It's up to the directors to decide the future of the club," he told the Gloucester Citizen newspaper.
"If they want someone else, then I don't have a problem."
