Falkirk manager Eddie May has refused to comment following reports suggesting that winger Neil McCann is to leave the Scottish Premier League club.
McCann, who had applied for the manager's post, met with May at the end of last week and did not feature during Saturday's friendly with Livingston.
"If anything is happening with Neil, we will make an official statement," May told BBC Scotland.
"Until then, it would not be fair on either party to go into detail."
Former Scotland international McCann and veteran full-back Jackie McNamara had been suggested by out-going boss John Hughes as a possible joint-management team.
However, Falkirk instead promoted youth coach May and installed retiring Bairns defender Steven Pressley as his assistant.
McCann, 34, still has a year of his contract remaining with Falkirk, who he joined in 2008 after a second spell with Hearts.
