Falkirk boss John Hughes says any talk of him succeeding Jimmy Calderwood at Aberdeen are wide of the mark.
But he restated his desire to coach in England, adding he will hold discussions with Falkirk's board after Saturday's Scottish Cup final.
"I'm an ambitious guy, England's the park I want to be in, but I'd be happy to stay here at Falkirk," said Hughes.
"Aberdeen's speculation. They're a wonderful club with a great history, but we're making history here too."
Hughes' Falkirk side will play newly-crowned Scottish Premier League champions Rangers at Hampden one week after they secured their own top-flight future.
After six years with the Bairns, the former Celtic and Hibernian defender's name has been linked with jobs north and south of the border, most notably at Blackpool and Aberdeen.
Ian Holloway has since taken up the hot seat at the English championship club, but Hughes still has desire to test himself at that level.
"I look down south and I see what's gone on in England with my mate Owen Coyle - what's happened to him how he's kicked on - it's fantastic," he said.
"Now we've got some great Scottish managers down there, and I think that's the park I want to play in.
"But if I'm still in Scotland and at Falkirk for the next five years - I'm not in any hurry.
"I'm contracted for another year, so if I'm here for that and beyond I'll be quite happy."
And he said he would sit down with the club's board to discuss how the club can move forward.
"For me to kick this club on it's all about resources," he said. "I would hope what we've done in the club that the revenue will come back into the playing budget."
"But I fully understand that's not always the case as there are other parts of the business you have to look after.
"It's a matter of me getting the Scottish Cup final out the way, sitting down with the board of directors, and seeing where we're going in terms of the direction of the club."
