Arfield has already equalled his goals tally for last season

Falkirk midfielder Scott Arfield is the Clydesdale Bank Premier League young player of the month for September.

The 19-year-old scored three goals as the Bairns went unbeaten last month to climb up the league table.

And veteran team-mate Russell Latapy is tipping the teenager for big things now Arfield has added goals to his game.

"Scott is only going to get better. One of his attributes is he wants to work hard and learn and he is a good listener," said the playmaker.

"Last season he was getting forward and getting into good areas and at times not hitting the target, or hitting it off the keeper.

"The more games he gets, the better he is going to get.

"I would think we are going to have a better player towards the end of the season and next season than we had last season."
