Hughes bemoans referee decisions

John Hughes
Hughes was disappointed with the referee at Celtic Park

Falkirk manager John Hughes was angry with some refereeing decisions during his side's 3-0 defeat by Celtic.

The Bairns have yet to secure a league win this season and Hughes was upset at referee Ian Brines' decisions which led to Celtic's first two goals.

"I felt McManus handled it - and okay everyone makes mistakes, but you feel disappointed about it," said Hughes.

"I'm not going to say too much about the second goal, but from where I'm sitting, that one was offside."

Hughes also said Brines called him to the referee's room at half-time with a copy of the rules and regulations, and told him he would be reported to the SFA.

"He's can't report me, because I've done nothing wrong," Hughes said.

"I wonder if it's maybe pre-meditated, or maybe it's just me, wee Gus and Craig Levein. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid."
