Hughes warns against high hopes
Falkirk head coach John Hughes
John Hughes hopes to still attract better players
Falkirk head coach John Hughes has warned his fans not build their expectations too high despite finishing seventh this season.

"The fans will want the top six next year, but it's going to be very difficult," he said after the 3-0 win over Dunfermline at East End Park.

"They have to realise we are still building the infrastructure of the club and we budgeted to finish eleventh.

"There's lots going on and I want to be honest with the fans."

But Hughes stressed that he would continue his efforts to lead Falkirk to a higher position next season.

"The players have been fantastic this season," he said.

"If we can keep the team together, we will keep punching above our weight.

"We will beg, borrow and steal to attract better players to the club."

Hughes was delighted to have ended the season on a high with victory over their derby rivals.

"It's good to have a good passing performance like that and to get the rewards with three goals makes it all worthwhile," he added.
