Hughes said he was waiting for Arsenal to decide on Stokes' future |
Falkirk manager John Hughes says he does not know whether hat-trick hero Anthony Stokes will extend his loan spell with the SPL side. Stokes, 18, helped Falkirk to a 3-1 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and Hughes said he was waiting to hear from Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
"I'm thankful for him being up here in the first place and delighted with his goals," Hughes said.
"Fingers crossed we get the nod to keep him. I'd be happy to keep him."
Hughes said Stokes, who scored his third hat-trick since moving to Scotland, could have scored one or two more against Inverness.
On the Irishman's future, Hughes added: "We're waiting but no news is good news isn't it? If we want him to play on Monday we'll have to get that phone call and get him re-registered."
