Alan Gow and Athony Stokes have been in fine form for Falkirk |
Falkirk head coach John Hughes hopes to learn within days whether he will be able to hold on to the services of forwards Anthony Stokes and Alan Gow. Top scorer Stokes' loan deal from Arsenal is due to end, while Hibernian have made an inquiry about in-form Gow.
"A phone call will be getting made on Wednesday about Anthony," Hughes told BBC Sport. "It's his last game on Saturday, so we need an answer.
"Hibs have asked to speak to Alan, but I hope to persuade him to stay."
Gow's contract ends in the summer and the 24-year-old former Airdrie forward can talk to other clubs in January.
"I think he should stay at Falkirk for another year," said Hughes.
"He could go elsewhere and not be playing regularly, but if he stayed here for another year I think he would be flying."
Hughes said Gow had been "a revelation" for the SPL side this season and added that it was imperative Falkirk retained his services if Stokes returned to Arsenal.
"If clubs are serious about Gow it's time they put their money where their mouth is," Hughes added.
