Hughes wants side to take heart
Falkirk head coach John Hughes
John Hughes praised Darren Barr for his performance
Falkirk head coach John Hughes is hoping his side do not lose heart after losing 1-0 to Celtic despite a gutsy display against the champions.

"I felt they gave as good as they got and we deserved something out of the match, if not three points," he said.

"They are a young team and I just wonder if it will have an adverse affect in the next game.

"But it is my job to get in about them and tell them that they matched the Scottish champions."

Hughes singled out 21-year-old defender Darren Barr for special praise.

"I felt we had the man-of-the-match in young Darren Barr at centre-half," he said.

"They have to be looking at that kid for Scotland's under-21 side.

"He wants it so, so bad."
