Frenchman Cedric Uras shows off his new colours |
Falkirk have completed the signing of former Bastia defender Cedric Uras. And captain Steven Thomson has signed an extension to his contract, which ties him to the Bairns until May 2008.
Uras, a 26-year-old Frenchman, had been recommended by Celtic centre-half Bobo Balde, with whom Uras played at Toulouse but who was a free agent.
Falkirk head coach John Hughes told his club website: "It is great news we have managed to get Cedric and he comes with a high pedigree."
Uras, who has also played for Lyon and had an unsuccessful trial with Celtic, has signed for the Scottish Premier League outfit until the end of the season.
Hughes hopes to utilise the Frenchman's versatility.
He can play anywhere in defence and also as a sitting midfielder, according to the Falkirk boss.
