Sercombe has signed a new deal which could keep him at Exeter until 2011
Exeter City's teenage defender Liam Sercombe has signed a new deal which could keep him at St James Park for the next three years.
The 18-year-old has played 16 times for City this season and made his debut in August 2007, a month after signing professional forms.
"I'm delighted because Liam has been with us for a long time," vice-chairman Julian Tagg told BBC Radio Devon.
"He joined as a 13-year-old, so he's come all the way through."
Sercombe has started nine games in his City career and scored his first goal against Port Vale back in October.
"He's just getting into the squad and played a full game against Barnet on Saturday. To have him put pen to paper is hugely important for the continuity going forward," added Tagg.
