A first-half brace from striker Leon Knight saw Swansea to a pre-season win. Two superb finishes from the former Brighton man set Kenny Jackett's team on their way, but concentration slipped after the break.
Chris Todd profited from poor defence at a corner to pull one back for Exeter, but the visitors rallied.
Izzy Iriekpen powered in Andy Robinson's corner near the end to ensure winning debuts for new signings Thomas Butler and Kevin Amankwaah.
Swansea manager Kenny Jackett:
"You're always happy to get into the winning habit so we're pleased with the result. "We could have done better in the second half, but we came through strongly in the end.
"A win without any injuries - we'd have taken that if we came here in a cup game."
