Penalty save could change Everton luck - Tim Howard
Howard's late penalty save ensured late drama at Goodison Park
Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard hopes his penalty save in the 2-2 draw with Tottenham can change their luck.
The Blues were 2-0 down in the second half but staged a late comeback, before Howard saved a late Jermain Defoe kick.
He told BBC Radio Merseyside: "When he gives a penalty you think that it sums us up right now. But the boys were saying they were hoping I'd save it.
"We were feeling like we haven't any luck and maybe that's just what we needed," the US international added.
The former Manchester United man thought the Toffees' fighting spirit was evident during the game,
He said: "We thought it was a good fightback, you never want to be down 2-0.
"Once Tottenham didn't take last last goal, we always know if we could get one. Even though it was late, we thought they'd be on the back foot.
"To fight back the way we did and the manager put on two strikers and they pushed us on.
"The way things have gone at the moment we can use the point. You're just hoping at the end of the season when it all adds up in May, that points really helped us."
