David Moyes took the reigns at Everton in March 2002
Everton's acting chief executive Robert Elstone is confident manager David Moyes will commit his long-term future to the club in the near future.
Scot Moyes, 45, is in the final year of his current contract at Everton and has repeatedly stated his desire to stay at Goodison Park.
"There are no issues outstanding, it's dotting the i's and crossing the t's," Elstone told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"Both sides are behind his contract, it's just taken a little time."
Everton have had an unconvincing start to the season, they are yet to win a home match and have been knocked out of both the Carling Cup and the Uefa Cup.
Former Preston boss Moyes has gone on record saying the uncertainty surrounding his own future may have had an adverse effect on his players' early-season form.
Elstone is confident the matter will be resolved shortly and has explained the delay in Moyes putting pen-to-paper.
"The reason it has taken time is because neither side saw any issues. It will, I'm sure, be announced very soon," said Elstone.
