Saha found his opportunities as Old Trafford limited due to injury
Former Everton winger Ronny Goodlass believes new signing Louis Saha could form an effective front-line partnership with striker Yakubu.
Saha, 30, arrives at Goodison Park after a four-year spell at Old Trafford in which his first-team opportunities were limited by a series of injuries.
"He's one of those players, if you keep him fit, he will score goals," Goodlass told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"If he links up with Yakubu it could be a really good partnership."
"He's tall and he's quick, whereas Yakubu is the one in the box," added Goodlass.
Saha did not feature in pre-season for Manchester United, suffering most recently from a calf strain.
The Blues are confident the Frenchman will be fit to feature for their first team by the end of September.
When he does make his Everton debut it will be in the famous number nine shirt.
Other players who have worn the number nine have done so with a lot of pride and got a lot of goals so hopefully he'll do the same

Goodlass believes that brings added pressure for Saha but he is confident the former Newcastle and Fulham striker can handle the demands of wearing the shirt made famous by Dixie Dean.
"It's an honour and if he doesn't know that I'm sure they'll be someone at the club telling him the number nine is a bit special at Everton football club," said Goodlass.
"Other players who have worn the number nine have done so with a lot of pride and got a lot of goals so hopefully he'll do the same."
