Baines missed out against his former club Wigan |
Everton boss David Moyes hopes to have new 6m signing Leighton Baines ready for action in a week's time. Baines, 22, who arrived from Wigan this month, missed Everton's Premier League opener against his old club on Saturday because of a hamstring injury.
He will also sit out Tuesday's visit to Tottenham but Moyes said: "We're looking forward to him being involved.
"He trained on Monday for the first time since joining us but he will need a week before we can consider him."
England Under-21 international Baines joined Everton after rejecting a chance to join Sunderland earlier in the summer.

Moyes added: "There has been no problem with him settling in and he has one or two friends here already."
Striker James McFadden, 24, is also back in contention for a place in the squad following a knee injury.
"James has done some training and I will add him to the squad for Tottenham," revealed Moyes.
"He missed a lot of pre-season work but because of the shortage up front I will be bringing him in."
