Vogel will bring experience to Goodison Park |
Everton are in talks with Switzerland international Johann Vogel and could sign the experienced midfielder on a free transfer. The 30-year-old captained his country at the 2006 World Cup and was at Spanish side Real Betis last season.
"We are in negotiations with the player," Everton chief executive Keith Wyness told the club's website.
"He will be coming shortly to discuss personal terms with a view to signing a contract," he added.
Vogel's exploits at PSV Eindhoven earned him a move to AC Milan in summer 2005 but he failed to make an impact.
A year after his move to the San Siro, he was the makeweight in a deal which took Ricardo Oliveira from Betis to the Italian side.
Vogel has 89 caps and also appeared for the Swiss in the European Championships of 1996 and 2004.
