Vaughan earned Everton a point at The Reebok |
Everton's James Vaughan has been released from hospital after severing an artery in his left leg during his side's 1-1 draw against Bolton. The 18-year-old was carried off after a challenge with Bolton's Abdoulaye Meite and taken to hospital.
But Vaughan, who scored Everton's equaliser, was released after X-rays showed no bone or ligament damage.
"Knowing him, he will probably want to play next week because he is a tough lad," said Everton boss David Moyes.
"Obviously it's bad but there's no break. He's severed an artery and the blood was spurting out."

Vaughan was accidentally caught on the left leg by Meite in a challenge on the edge of the area just after the hour of the game.
He was stitched up by club doctor Ian Irving before being taken to the nearby Beaumont Hospital.
On Vaughan's performance, Moyes added: "He was terrific. "It's as if he has that freshness back, that youthfulness after not playing for most of the season."
It was Vaughan's second goal in four days after scoring Everton's third in a 4-1 Goodison Park victory over Fulham on Friday.
