Yobo signed for Everton in 2003 |
Everton defender Joseph Yobo has signed a new four-year contract. The 25-year-old Nigerian international expressed his desire to sign a new deal two weeks ago and will now remain at the club until 2010.
He told the club website: "I have waited a long time for this to be sorted out. There was no doubt of me being happy, I wanted to stay.
"I spoke to the manager David Moyes and he told me the club's ambitions and then I accepted that I wanted to stay."
Yobo moved to Goodison Park in the summer of 2002 on a season-long loan from French club Marseille before making the move permanent in 2003.
Yobo had recently been linked with a move to Arsenal after negotiations on his new deal stalled.
He has featured 98 times for the Toffees and has amassed 17 international caps for the Super Eagles.
