Everton's �8.6m signing Andrew Johnson hopes his chances of playing for England will improve as a result of his decision to join the Merseyside club. The 25-year-old striker was unveiled at Goodison Park on Wednesday following his move from Crystal Palace.
"I'm delighted to have joined one of the biggest clubs in British football," said the 25-year-old.
"I'm playing for a team who played in the Champions League. Playing for them will help my England chances."
Johnson is expected to be Everton's highest-paid player, having agreed a four-year deal worth a reported �40,000 a week.

Palace will get more than �5m up front from the Premiership side for Johnson who is likely to form Everton's strike partnership with his close friend James Beattie next season.
"I'm looking forward to playing with him, he's a top player. It'll be good to play off him," added Johnson.
Wigan and Bolton also had bids for Johnson accepted, but the player said there was only one club he wanted to join.
"Everton boss David Moyes had a massive part in my decision. We had a good chat and he told me the way the club is going. He impressed me a lot."
Moyes said he was delighted the Everton board supported him in his bid to bring in the player.
"They have been terrific in backing me," said the Goodison Park manager.
"I have always said if there was any money the board would always give it and they have.
"There's a terrific atmosphere here, with big crowds, for Andy to play in front of.
"We are ambitious, we always try to make progress. Bringing players in not just for a year or so but for a long time is our aim."
Moyes suggested there could be more signings on the way soon.
"There could be another player in three or four days time," he added.
