Everton performance pleases Moyes
Everton boss David Moyes
David Moyes felt Everton were unlucky not to be awarded a second penalty after they held Premiership leaders Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.

James Beattie smashed home a first-half spot-kick but a second-half claim for a penalty, when the ball appeared to hit John Terry's arm, was turned down.

And Toffees boss Moyes said: "It should have been a penalty - Terry leaned in to block the ball and it hit his arm.

"But our performance was pleasing - we worked hard against a very good team."

Moyes hopes his side can take heart from ending Chelsea's 100% start to the season and climb off the foot of the table.

He continued: "We had to endure a few scary moments but we gave them some too and hopefully this result will give the players the confidence in their ability.

"The players have raised the bar to a new standard with this performance but they have to kick on and get more points."

Moyes also disagreed with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's claims that Didier Drogba's disallowed goal should have been stood.

He added: "Eidur Gudjohnsen was standing in the middle of the box and in an area that was interfering with play, so he had to be flagged offside."
