Everton defender Alessandro Pistone will miss most of the season after sufferering a knee ligament injury in the victory at Bolton. The 29-year-old Italian returned to Everton on a two-year contract in the summer after he appeared set to return to his home country with Lecce.
Everton boss David Moyes said: "Pistone has a cruciate injury and looks like he will be out for most of the season.
"It is a massive blow and I will probably need to bring in a left-back."
