Moyes keen on new signings
Everton manager David Moyes
Moyes is determined Everton will have a better season
Everton boss David Moyes remains keen to bolster his squad ahead of the new Premiership season, but admits it may not be possible.

Striker Marcus Bent is Everton's only new recruit so far this summer and Moyes is aware that the club's financial situation may prevent more.

"The situation is we need some more players," said Moyes.

"We hope we can do that but if we cannot I will do everything I possibly can with what is available."

More funds could be made available through the sale of prized England striker Wayne Rooney, but club chairman Bill Kenwright has said he would turn down any bid for the 18-year-old.

Everton finished one place above the relegation zone last season, but despite the lack of transfer funds Moyes is desperate for a better season.

"I am looking forward to the biggest challenge of my management career," he said.

"This is one of the biggest clubs in the country and it is a privilege to be here.

"I am going to do everything I possibly can to make sure the disappointments we had last year do not happen this year."
