Eastbourne boss Garry Wilson says they must convert draws into wins in the Blue Square Bet Premier this season.
The Sports drew 13 games last year as they narrowly avoided relegation.
He told BBC Sussex: "Draws were a problem for us last year. We just couldn't get over that hurdle of winning more games.
"We've got to get away from that this year, that's one of my aims. Maybe we'll be a bit more positive at times, especially at home."
He added: "We'll try and get three points because they're vital. There were far, far too many draws."
Wilson has brought in five new players over the summer, and is happy with how his squad is shaping up for the coming season.

"It's not our way not to make dramatic changes. We just tweak where we feel it's necessary," he said.
"The main two areas were centre-half and up front. We lost two big players in Liam Enver-Marum and Mark Pullen but I'm pleased with the replacements.
"We've added a little bit of flair into the side as well. And we've got some great young players coming through.
"We won't be scared to throw them in. Maybe not straight away, but they'll get an opportunity."
Borough start the season away to Tamworth on Saturday.
