Stephen Kenny admits the Pars' situation is precarious |
Defiant Stephen Kenny refused to admit that his Dunfermline side were heading for relegation despite failing to narrow the gap with St Mirren. "We are in a precarious position," the Pars manager admitted after the 0-0 draw with the second-bottom side.
"We've a chance to close the gap to six points at Inverness next week to give ourselves some semblance of chance.
"Naturally, the players are very disappointed. They were optimistic before the game."
Dunfermline have beaten Rangers and Hearts in the Scottish Cup but cannot win in the SPL.
"They have not scored enough goals and that is the bottom line," said Kenny.
"We did okay at times in the first half. We found them a tough nut to crack.
"They had a great double save from their goalkeeper and then Adam Hammill knocked it wide.
"It was a good chance and one we should have taken."
