Stephen Kenny says he is fully committed to Dunfermline |
New Dunfermline manager Stephen Kenny blamed a crippling injury list for the 5-1 hammering at the hands of Kilmarnock in his first game in charge. "When you are at the bottom of the league and have 10 players on the treatment table, you know you've got a challenge on your hands," he said.
"I've never been 4-1 down at half-time before. It was a new experience and not a very nice feeling.
"But we have players coming back and, when they are back, will be stronger."
The result leaves Dunfermline five points adrift at the bottom of the Scottish Premier League.
Meanwhile, Kenny will take charge of former club Derry City for the final time in Sunday's FAI Cup final against St Patrick's at Lansdowne Road.
But he slammed suggestions that he is not totally committed to the Dunfermline job.
"That's definitely not the case at all and I wouldn't like to hear people say that," he said.
"It's a bit unfair to suggest that to be honest. We prepared well for the game, we just didn't defend well.
"An agreement was made with Dunfermline and they were fine with that. It doesn't affect my job at Dunfermline at all."
