Dunfermline Athletic hope to appoint their new manager early next week. The Pars are understood to have one more candidate to interview at the weekend before making their decision.
Former Dundee Utd boss Craig Brewster is still on the Pars shortlist, but Sydney's Terry Butcher now appears to be out of the running for the vacancy.
Jim Leishman stepped down last week to return to his role as director of football with the Scottish Premier League club at East End Park.
Pars chairman John Yorkston had said on Wednesday that the club will take their time before appointing Leishman's successor.
Assistant boss Craig Robertson took charge of the team for last weekend's 1-1 draw away to Hearts.

And he is set to look after the side for the visit of Falkirk on Saturday.
Yorkston said: "We are making sure we cover everything thoroughly.
"Jim's been on the phone to some people and is trying to make contact with others.
"Some people we know, so we don't need to go into so much detail with them, but others are strangers, for want of a better word.
"Craig Robertson has been asked to take the team for Saturday's match and that still stands."
Meanwhile, former Pars striker Brewster, who left Dundee United on Sunday, has been offered the head coach role at another of his previous clubs, Ionikos in Greece.
"Ionikos have made me an offer and obviously it's one which I have to look at closely," Brewster said.
"I have a lot to think about and they've told me they want an answer by Thursday at the latest."
